Talk us through your background and your journey as an individual /professional /writer/ actor/entrepreneur?
“Jump, and then make your parachute!” is how I live life. Why stay on the ground making your parachute, overthinking your dreams, when the real excitement is in jumping and having that faith in yourself right here, right now! That’s why we started Dream Catchers in 2011; we wanted to help fulfill artist’s dreams by providing them with a platform for them to showcase their talent and to urge them to take that leap of faith.

We ran multiple online contents and concerts partnering with local organizations like NUS, Radio Masti & Media/TV Channels like Zee TV, MTV & Colors TV. We then went on to promote women and entrepreneurs of all age groups and backgrounds through our all inclusive fashion ramp walk “Runway Mom”. We have also ventured into Theatre Productions and Short Films production. We are now working on a Feature Film Production too!

Tell us about your films.

When the movie starts, everybody grows silent and watches. So while we have our audience’s attention, we like to talk about things that need to be talked about. Our films “Caged” and “FlipSide” shed light on the important topics of mental health awareness and domestic violence. Our films “Players”, “Soulmates” and “The Lighthouse” provide entertainment for our audience making them gasp, sigh and feel exhilarated all at once. And our romantic film “Put a Ring On It” brings butterflies to our audience’s tummy just the way the film I acted in called “Butterflies” empowers our audience to triumph over tragedy.

What is the hardest challenge you faced in your career and how did you turn it into an opportunity?
Our biggest challenge has been the C word………..COVID! But when there’s a hurricane, it’s important to make a windmill and harness the chaos into energy. So, we moved from in-person theatre productions to making films. Dream Catchers may be a private limited company, but we proved to ourselves through this challenging time that we will never be limited!

Tell us about the uniqueness of your films/business/and how it can help individuals/startups/institutions ? &
Dream Catchers cares about the people it does business with. We start off with looking at market gaps and then we zoom in to see the missing needs of individuals that belong to that market segment. Runway Mom is an all-inclusive fashion ramp walk that extends its hands to women of all ages and sizes and invites them to own their beauty. Normally, when we think of ramp walks we think of size 0 women in their 20’s, but beauty is not limited to that, beauty exists within everyone and that’s a market gap we hoped to fill.
We are also providing a platform to local actors, production crew and businesses through our films.
Platform to singers, musicians, stand-up comedians, visual artists through Superstars Singapore, co-production of Dream Catchers and ZEE TV.

What is your business / success mantra that you have embraced as you sought to establish your success story?
I strongly believe “When you have your heart in the right place, everything works in your favour. When you come from a place of ‘Life is for me and not against me’ then you are in gratitude always and that’s the best attitude to have.”
I am a passionate Actor, Writer, Pod-Caster, Producer other than being an Entrepreneur. So my motto “No harm Trying” let’s me venture into newer fields without worrying too much about the outcome, atleast I don’t regret not trying it.

As Maya Angelou said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”. We care to connect with each of our clients and establish a professional yet personable relationship with them so that each person feels seen, feels important and benefits from partnership/collaboration with us.

Any other Happy moments /achievements you would like to share with the world.
The company has received recognition for its work over the years, including ‘Most Promising Entrepreneur’ from the Singapore Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (SICCI), ‘Top 20 Entrepreneurs in Singapore’ from Zee Tv’s She Ventures, ‘Woman Leadership Award and Pioneering Woman Leadership Award’ by CMO Asia and ‘Global Inspiring Woman Award’. We still feel a smile on someone’s face brought by us and our platform is our biggest achievement, when we see people a step closer to their dreams coz of us, we feel our job is well done.
