ARZOO KHULLAR (15 yrs) - Artist
I started dancing when I was 4 years old...

Talk us through your background and your journey as an individual and achiever.
I started dancing when I was 4 years old where my Guru refused to teach me as she taught no one who was under the age of six, but seeing the swiftness and my hold on the dance skills he quickly realized my passion for dance was not ignorable and so thereafter my journey began.
My Achievements in Dance
  1. I have been learning dance since I was four and now it has been 11 years and my determination has not wavered.
  2. I have traveled across the world to share India’s vast and diverse culture through Dance ,11 different state dancers were performed by me in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan. My next trip was to Istanbul, Turkey and the sole purpose of the trip for me was to augment India and march past the longest highway in bishkek holding India’s  tricolor Pride for 20 minutes with people from different countries. Then followed my  inter TV performance in two different Indian dance forms three times a day for 5 consecutive days. My most memorable performance by far has been Bhairav performing centre-stage as Krishna and my dance mates were Gopis. And all this began in Gwalior India where there was a competition that helped me reach various countries like Italy, Russia, Europe etc.
  3. I had bagged the first prize in the Street ft Rhythm competition held in Amity International where I competed against 28 other schools in loving memory of PT Lal Bahadur Shastri on the occasion of Jai Jawan Jai Kisan .I portrayed the uniqueness of Indian Culture through dance in contrast with western fusion that was witnessed by a huge gathering.
  4. My graceful performance on the cultural mixture of India’s folk was well appreciated in NCSQCC 2017.
  5. I have 4 medals , 24 certificates & 9 trophies to Treasure.

My Achievements in Reading:
When I was in class 4, I had read 90 books in the month and was awarded with the  “Avid reader” back in the whole primary section .All my achievements and hard work paid off when I was selected as the head girl of my school based on election basis followed by an interview with the principal and senior had teachers.

What are the hardest challenges you faced in your journey and how did you turn it into an opportunity?
A The hardest challenge I faced in my journey was when I had to finally accept the fact that everything will be completely online for at least two whole years. Life is all about interaction , growth as a team and success. All this was extremely difficult to achieve through a screen and not just that but no actual human interaction. Me being a very social person and extrovert; I really thought I would be majorly affected and for a while I was. Being stuck between four walls hadn’t ever faced me until it finally did when I was proven covid-19 positive. A few days after taking a test for it under high fever and extreme weakness I didn’t want to leave the bed and my hobby halted for sometime. but I am back to being how I was and I hope everything goes back to being normal soon too.

Any other happy moments achievements you would like to share with the world?
Out of 3000 entries from all across the world my painting was selected for the special Exhibition of youth for climate change held at Poland, during the cop24 UN climate Xhange Conference 2018.
