Talk us through your background and your journey as an ENTREPRENEUR?
I have always been passionate about my work, and when I decided to resume my professional journey, I chose to be an entrepreneur. While discussing various ideas with my friends, I realized that there would be many similar women who would want to resume their careers but may not have the resources. I also realized that many-a-times, these women had to face rejection primarily due to the break they had taken, and when someone made it through, their compensation and / or role was often compromised.

This was my trigger to gather like-minded returning mothers and put together an all-women team into the recruitment services industry. We then expanded the offerings to all kinds of recruitment solutions and have a bunch of clients that the team currently serves.

 

Today, we are a proud and empowered workforce with returning moms working from home from different cities of the country. These returning moms have the right skills, have worked in the past and are willing to pursue their careers from the comforts of their home. Needless to say, the initiative also gives them the opportunity to earn for themselves and for their families, from the comforts of their homes.

 

As a passionate and result-oriented women entrepreneur, I envisioned creating a workplace where women can start or restart their professional journey without being judged.


This is how HyumaniX was established.

If you had to start over would you choose a corporate career or being an entrepreneur?
Being an entrepreneur has been such a satisfying and rewarding journey that I would not trade this for anything else. Firstly, because as an entrepreneur I can create a career that aligns with my values. Also, in a corporate role, there are only so many tasks one can accomplish, only so many decisions that one can take. While as an entrepreneur, I am able to take high-stakes decisions independently. The thrills involved, the leadership and managerial experiences and the feeling of driving your own business is unparalleled.

What is the hardest challenge you faced in your career and how did you turn it into an opportunity?
Resuming the career after my break was hard, but what was hardest was that I was unfairly judged, and my skills and capabilities were oversighted by many. I was offered significantly reduced compensation packages or sometimes blatantly told that I will not be able to cope up with the work pressure. You can read hundreds of stories where mums returning to work have admitted that their pay has fallen significantly after resuming or restarting work. It is high time the world realises that motherhood is not a ‘penalty’, it’s a ‘reward’. Together, let’s create a positive and enriching work culture for returning mums. Today, we have a network of over 50 women Micropreneurs working from home, who are not only resuming their passion, but are also financially empowered. As a woman entrepreneur, it is not very difficult to recognize and bridge the difference between Equality and Equity, and to enable inclusive economic growth. We relentlessly kept going after our dream and as they say, every sunset brings the promise of a new dawn – these obstacles turned into opportunity and laid the foundation of HyumaniX – The People EconomiX Company.

Tell us about the uniqueness of your brand / startup
A Company’s Human Capital is probably the most undervalued of all assets, probably because it goes on the balance sheet as a cost. However, when deployed correctly, the value that this Capital creates is immense – something that no balance sheets under any accounting standard can fathom. HyumaniX is a women-led, women-driven, People Economix Company. This is because we understand how people can make or break an organization, and that is the kind of value we create for our clients. Our service delivery model is unique in a manner that we have seasoned experts representing various domains – Technology, Engineering, Services, Support etc. Having successfully concluded multiple RPOs, we continue to deliver on lateral as well as senior hirings across industries. Each of our clients is served by a Womenpreneur who comes from a similar industry, which helps us understand not only their business, but also the challenges and kind of roles they might be looking for. It enables women to become financially empowered by helping them explore their career and work from home opportunities

What is your business success mantra that you have embraced as you sought to establish your success story?
We understand the difference between Equality and Equity. The former usually gets passed on in high-table discussions, the latter propels inclusive economic growth. Equity, when delivered with Respect and Empathy, makes the world such a better place to be in.
