If I were to start over, I would wholeheartedly choose a corporate career, and there are several compelling reasons behind this choice. Firstly, a corporate career offers incredible opportunities for collaboration. Working within a structured organization allows me to engage with diverse teams, exchange ideas, and collectively tackle complex challenges. Collaboration not only fosters creativity but also provides a sense of shared achievement. Secondly, being a corporate trainer allows me to constantly meet new people. Each workshop or training session brings a fresh group of individuals with unique experiences and perspectives. These interactions are not only enriching but also allow me to expand my network, opening doors to unforeseen opportunities. Furthermore, a corporate career provides a platform for honing my skills. Continuous learning and development are integral to my role as a trainer. In a corporate setting, I have access to resources and training programs that help me refine my expertise, ensuring I deliver the best possible value to my clients and colleagues. Lastly, the stability and security offered by a corporate career are invaluable. Entrepreneurship can be a rollercoaster of uncertainties, while a corporate job provides a reliable income, benefits, and a structured environment. In conclusion, a corporate career aligns perfectly with my passion for collaboration, networking, skill development, and stability. It allows me to make a meaningful impact while enjoying the benefits of a well-established organization.
What is the hardest challenge you faced in your career and how did you turn it into an opportunity?
The most daunting challenge I encountered in my career journey was starting from scratch with very limited knowledge and no mentor to guide me. It was a steep uphill climb, but I was determined to turn this challenge into an opportunity for growth.
To overcome my initial lack of expertise, I embarked on a journey of self-education and skill development. I devoured every piece of relevant information, attended workshops, and read extensively to build a solid foundation in my field. It was a tireless effort, but I knew that knowledge was the key to credibility.
Building credibility was the next hurdle. I realized that I couldn’t wait for people to choose me; I had to show them why they should. To achieve this, I offered numerous free sessions to showcase my skills and knowledge. This allowed me to demonstrate the value I could bring to the table, gradually earning the trust of potential clients and collaborators.
Moreover, I proactively approached people and sought out collaborations to expand my network and reach. I was relentless in my efforts, consistently engaging with my audience on platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram, and reaching out to individuals who could help me grow.
In time, my persistence paid off. I transformed my initial challenges into opportunities by not just waiting for doors to open, but by actively seeking ways to open them myself. Today, I can proudly say that these challenges were the stepping stones that led me to a successful career in corporate training and public speaking.
